Rider safety skills are essential — and like any skill, they benefit from intentional, structured instruction. ESA is building a formal, skill-based safety curriculum to complement that training — and we’re inviting a select group of industry experts to help shape a new national standard.

The Equestrian Safety Academy is building the first standardized, skills-based curriculum dedicated exclusively to rider safety education.
The Equestrian Safety Academy teaches the essential safety skills most riders don’t receive in a structured format in traditional lessons. Through clinics, classes, and simulator-based training, riders learn fall-prevention, proper dismounts, spook reactions, emergency responses, soft-landing techniques, and more — all taught in controlled environments that allow riders to develop critical safety skills before applying them in live-riding contexts.
We are assembling a select team of experts to ensure these skills are taught safely and effectively, shaping the first formal rider safety curriculum in the U.S.

We’re building the first equestrian safety academy designed for riders of all ages. ESA offers a structured, phased approach to rider safety education — starting with foundational skills, expanding through regular practice, and ultimately establishing a standardized, industry-wide curriculum.
Our phased development approach ensures every element — curriculum, facilities, expert advisors, and training modules — is created thoughtfully and with the highest safety standards.
